DNV is an independent, autonomous foundation established in 1864 with the objective of safeguarding life, property and the environment.  Det Norske Veritas today operates in more than 100 countries, from more than 300 offices and on behalf of some 130 national authorities.  It staff totals 7,000 world-wide.

Today DNV is the largest classification Society in Middle East and India in terms of gross tonnage operated by owners in the Regoin and more than 8 mill dwt in order by local owners to DNV.  DNV has 17 maritime offices in the Region with close to 450 employees in Middle East and India together.
