Jorn Hinge
President and Chief Executive Officer, United Arab Shipping Company (S.A.G.)
Jørn Hinge is the President and Chief Executive Officer of United Arab Shipping Company since June 2009.
Jorn Hinge is a veteran and accomplished shipping professional with over 30 years experience in the shipping industry, 15 out of which spent with UASC as its Chief Operating Officer, since 1994.
Over the past 15 years, He served as Chairman of several shipping conferences – the Europe Middle East Rate Agreement, India Pakistan Bangladesh Ceylon Conference as well as FESAMEC and IRA. Jørn also serves as Chairman/Director on several UASC subsidiaries.
Jørn has a wealth of experience in chartering, project shipping, new building projects and liner shipping; and was instrumental in developing EAC’s liner services between Australia and the Far East. In 1990 Jørn was appointed CEO of a joint-venture between EAC and Ben Line of Edinburgh to startup a new container service between the Far East and North Europe.
Prior to joining UASC, Jørn worked with the East Asiatic Company Ltd., (EAC) Copenhagen (1966 – 1994), in various Management positions in EAC Branches and Affiliated Companies, in South America, North America and Europe.
Jørn was born in 1949, is married to his wife Valquiria and has three sons.
