Mr. Sabyasachi Hajara, the Chairman and Managing Director of The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd started his professional career with SCI in the year 1973 after obtaining Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata. He also has a degree in Law and two PG Diplomas in Shipping and in International Maritime Law & Marine Insurance from the Norwegian Shipping Academy. He has vast experience in various aspects of shipping and has been representing the Indian shipping industry at various international fora such as the ILO and IMO. He is currently the President of Indian National Shipowners Association and also has been Vice-President and Director of International Shipping Federation. He is also on the Board of Governors of the World Maritime University.
